Illustrations that bring
your book to life.
Picture book spreads, chapter art, fantasy maps and cover illustrations, created by illustrators who understand how art and text work together on the page.
Book art has to tell the story, not just decorate it.
In a picture book, the illustrations carry half the story. They show what the words leave out, set the emotional tone and give children something new to find on every reading.
Our illustrators start with character designs and rough sketches for every spread, so you can approve composition and storytelling before color is added. Text placement is planned from the beginning, so words never fight the art.
Every illustration is delivered at print resolution with the bleed your printer requires.

How many illustrations does a picture book need?
Most picture books are 32 pages. After the title page, copyright page and dedication, that usually leaves 12 to 14 double-page spreads, or a mix of spreads and single pages. Some books also use spot illustrations, small vignettes, on text-heavy pages. We plan the count with you during storyboarding, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Beyond children's books
- Fantasy and sci-fi maps
- Chapter header art and decorative borders
- Illustrated covers for adult fiction
- Diagrams and illustrations for nonfiction
- Panels and pages for comics and graphic novels
Still writing the story? Our children's book writers and comic writers plan text and art together from the start.
