Scripts built for
panels and pages.
Comics are their own language. Our writers plan stories page by page, write panel descriptions artists can work from and keep dialogue tight enough to fit the balloons.
In comics, the page turn is a plot point.
A great comic script controls pacing through layout. Reveals land on the left-hand page after a turn. Action breaks across panels so readers feel the motion. Every word balloon competes with the art for space.
Our comic writers plan each issue or chapter page by page, write clear panel descriptions and keep dialogue lean. Your artist gets a script they can draw without guessing.
Whether you are building a superhero universe, a manga-inspired series or a graphic memoir, the story is planned for the medium from the start.

Full script or plot first?
There are two common ways to write comics. In a full script, the writer describes every panel and writes all dialogue before the art begins. In plot first, the writer supplies a page-by-page plot, the artist draws, and dialogue is written to fit the finished art. We work either way and recommend one based on your artist and your schedule.
Planning a graphic novel
- Most graphic novels run between 100 and 200 pages
- A single comic issue is usually around 20 to 24 story pages
- Webcomics often release in short weekly episodes
- Lettering space needs to be planned in the script, not added at the end
